Process & Progress

After discovered the problems in Georgetown city,

we work in 3 have come out some ideas and sketches for the solution.

Throw into is a project to educate citizens and tourists to throw rubbish

 into the dustbin but not around the dustbin by using visual solution. 

We are going to design a sticker collection to convey this message

 and stick it on the dustbins in Georgetown.

We also try out the stick notes method to come out with more and more ideas !

How your Relate ?

We did research about the history of Penang, 

brainstorm for the meaning of our happiness and 

discover the problems of Georgetown city 

but how are all these going to be related ?

I would like to share some thought here,
the four original streets which are Beach Street , Light Street , Chulia Street and Pitt Street 
as part of the history of Penang. 
Nowadays, there are many cafes on these streets which could really brings along happiness. 
At the same time, there are a lot of rubbish around the streets and cafes.
This is the problem we going to solve and bring more happiness to the city !  

The Reasons of Your Happiness

Yeah happiness is always around us and you can define anything as your happiness just like a smile, an ice-cream, a real man show, your family and friends but WHY ? 
Why it makes you feel happiness ?

For me , happiness is all about a cup of good coffee.
Ask me why and it is because of the good feeling by having a cup of coffee.
It's the buzz you get when you got that first sip.
Coffee taste good and I like it's smell which could make me stay fresh and active always !

A cup of good coffee is can boost up my energy while it makes me relax and forget about the hectic day.
Nothing else could replace the satisfaction of having coffee.

Happiness is to step in a cafe with comfortable environment .
When a cup of coffee is just right in front of you,
look at the beautiful coffee art and the aromatic smell of it make you can't wait anymore to sip it .
The atmosphere of the cafe with these perfect combination, that's how coffee brings me happiness.

The problems of Georgetown

We explored Georgetown and discover some problems in the town . 

First of all , the problem of wayfinding .

There is no sign board for those famous spots , and surprisingly we found a historical temple - Chung Keng Kwee Ancestral Temple "hiding" between two buildings along Church Street.

This is difficult for tourists to discover the travel spots or landmarks in Georgetown. 

Well , the buildings around Georgetown are getting worn. Its' appearances are dirty and the paint are corroded.  

Rubbish being thrown around but not inside the dustbin is even worst.

Perhaps it is because of the condition of the dustbin ? 

The insufficient of parking lots in Georgetown forcing the residents to park their vehicles in the private parking lots with high parking rate charged !

While there is no place for tourists to park and lock their bicycle as well. 

Vandalism of public properties is occur. 

My Happiness

how you define happiness ?

Happiness could be simple with contented heart . 

A smile , sunshine , great music , being with friends ,

we should appreciate everything happens in our daily life that lead us to happiness.  

Walking around and spot this Vico cart in Uni . 

I couldn't explain why but I do feel happy at the moment. 

The childhood memory is flashing back . 

I used to be exciting to queue up and can't wait to grab the free milo.

The excitement is decreasing day by day as we grown up and we never realize that happiness could be simple . You can be happy , if you wish to .

the history of Georgetown city

Good day people . I just found out the history of Penang .
My first thought after reading this article is to explore Georgetown once again !!!
Can't wait anymore to Esplanade and the 4 original streets that still form the main thoroughfares of the modern city which are Beach Street , Light Street , Chulia Street and Pitt Street .

That must be a brand new thought about Georgetown after understanding the history of the city .
